VISION: ‘INVICTUS’ meets ‘BASQUIAT’ & ‘THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS’. An inspiring true story of overcoming all odds to live the dream. The dream of becoming an artist. The vision of freedom. The hope for a better life, a better world.
LOGLINE: A young South African boy named JABU, an artist protesting Apartheid, is imprisoned for a year at the age of 12 for wearing a shirt to a protest with Mandela’s face on it. An image of Mandela that he himself painted. Along Jabu’s journey, he survives torture during his imprisonment and overcomes homelessness in Los Angeles while pursuing his dream as an artist. JABU since then has gone on to inspire people worldwide, changing lives for the better through his positive vision of what the future can be…if we try.
